Synopsis
“
Napoleon Xylophone hates his name; that's why his friends call him Zam. He doesn't know it yet, but he is set to become a hero and when adventure comes his way, Zam doesn't let his walking disability get in the way of fighting the changelings, wytes and gargoyles that come to life in the underworld beneath Newcastle. Not when he has a ghost for a best friend, a wheelchair that can fly, and a grandfather who created a new life form that allows whoever wears it to speak to Time.
“
Zam doesn't want to ask a zombie for help, but having a doppelganger and a wraith chasing him down means he has little choice. Searching for the zombie in the City of the Dead beneath Edinburgh, he travels with two ghosts and his high-tech wheelchair that thinks it's a changeling.
When he eventually finds the zombie, they both learn a valuable lesson. One learns it is possible to undo death if you betray a friend, while the other learns that even after death, friendships can be formed that will last forever.
“
If the morbane was to be believed, the Cult of the Clan had at last found the secret to immortality. Yet who could ever trust the word of a demon?

Zam's grandmother was one of the few changelings still alive in either this world or the Underworld. He would never allow the Cult to take her away from him. Even if it meant having to destroy the most powerful demon ever to walk amongst humans.

Even if it meant giving his own life in exchange for his grandmother's life.
